The Loddon Mallee Presbytery is situated in central and northern Victoria, and stretches from Castlemaine in the south, right up north past Sunraysia and crossing over into NSW to Wentworth and Moulamein.
It includes some larger regional centres like Bendigo in the South, and Swan Hill and Mildura in the North. In the centre lies the Mallee, a large area with areas of isolation, and a number of small towns, some with quite large distances between them.
The regional churches are well staffed with ordained Ministry and can offer a range of resources. The rural churches are generally small but are very strong in their commitment and faithfulness, usually providing ministry, worship and pastoral care themselves. As other services in these smaller communities decline, these congregations are often the backbone of the town, often providing a range of services to the community themselves.
As a Presbytery we have a Standing Committee that works towards assisting and enhancing the priorities of Presbytery and developing the mission of the church in each congregation. In our Presbytery the Standing Committee fulfills the functions of Mission, Education, Pastoral Care, oversight and administration, aided by a Pastoral Relations Committee.
